Nixon's Moon Landings 1969 - 1972

Nixon: "This is the greatest week since the beginning of the world, the creation."

Hypothesis to be examined:
President Richard Nixon, informed by NASA scientists that he could not fulfill President Kennedy's challenge
"to go to the Moon in this decade", due to the Van Allen Belts of deadly radiation and other technical challenges
authorized NASA to fake it 1969-72, just in time to beat the Russians, using Hollywood movie technology
and Grumman's Remote Controlled Lunar Lander to bring back rocks to convince the scientists and Soviets,
and leave the lower half Descent Module as visual evidence for lunar reconnaissance photography satellites.

January 20, 1969 - Nixon becomes President
July 20, 1969 - First Moon Walk - Apollo 11
December 14, 1972 - Last Moon Walk - Apollo 17
August 9, 1974 - Nixon resigns due to lying about Watergate

President Lyndon B. Johnson set the precedent, proving the public could be fooled with Apollo 8's Moon orbit.

All the Moon "landings" happened during 1969 - 1972
during the administration of Richard Nixon
the only President who had to resign due to lying (about Watergate).

Billy Graham, a minister for Jesus Christ, says there are more significant weeks since creation.

Graham Differs
With Nixon On
Lunar Landing

WASHINGTON (UPI)--North Carolina evangelist Billy Graham said Friday he would not agree with President Nixon that the moon landing was the most important event since the beginning of the world.

In welcoming the astronauts back to earth Thursday, Nixon said, "this is the greatest week since the beginning of the world, the creation.  Nothing has changed the world more than this mission."

Graham who has been a personal friend as well as religious adviser of the President for many years, said as a Christian, he would contend there have been three greater days: The first Christmas, when Christ was born; the day Christ died, and the first Easter, when "Christ rose again and conquered death on behalf of all mankind."

Graham said the day of the moon landing "was a very great day, one for all men to celebrate, but I don't think it was the greatest day in history, and from my knowledge of the President, I am absolutely convinced that on reflection he would agree with me."

Nixon and China

President Richard Nixon opened the door to U.S. relations with China.   Now China could expose a 40+ year fraud.

The deadline that John F. Kennedy set with "we choose to go to the Moon in this decade" was fast approaching in 1969.

Under LBJ, NASA was inefficient and behind schedule.

NASA engineers said they needed much longer.  Apollo 10 caught fire, killing 3 astronauts.  Russia was reportedly about to go to the Moon.

President Nixon was stuck.   He did what he could.

He authorized the release of Apollo simulation photos and data to beat the Russians to the Moon, and help end the cold war.

China knows it was a fraud, and is gracefully giving NASA the chance to save face, and do the honorable thing.
